WE STAND UP
TO STOP
THE FEMICIDE OF
WOMEN & GIRLS
IN LATIN AMERICA!

In February 2020, Ingrid Escamilla Vargas, 25, was found skinned, dismembered, and disemboweled.

Fátima Cecilia Aldrighett Antón, age 7, was last seen alive leaving school on 11 February. Her corpse was found wrapped in a garbage bag, showing evidence of torture.

Sadly, Ingrid and Fatima’s deaths are just a symptom of an all-too-common occurrence—every day in Mexico, ten women are killed on the basis of gender. Fewer than five percent of those murders are ever solved and the justice system rarely presses charges.

WE STAND UP
TO PROTECT OUR
INDIGENOUS
SISTERS!

More than 4 in 5 American Indian and Alaska Native women have experienced violence, and more than 1 in 2 have experienced sexual violence by primarily non-Indians (96%) who are never brought to justice.

Indigenous women have gone missing and are murdered at more than ten times the national U.S. average.

AFGHAN SISTERS
FOR THEIR EQUALITY
AS CITIZENS OF
THEIR COUNTRY!

On August 13, 2020, a courageous group of Afghan Women and individual activists sent a letter to the Leaders of the Taliban.   Here's an excerpt:

"There are many customary practices that are in clear contradictions to Islamic values. Some of the more egregious are prohibiting and limiting girls’ education, women’s economic freedom, right to inheritance, the treatment of women and girls as commodities, resolving disputes by giving little girls and women as Baad. "

Baad is a method of settlement and compensation whereby a female from the criminal's family is given to the victim's family as a servant or a bride.

"In Afghanistan, women continue to be the largest illiterate population. In addition, 80% of our girls are forced into marriage at a very young age, a tradition more common in areas under your influence."

WE STAND UP
FOR OUR LGBTQ FAMILY FOR THEIR DIGNITY AND HUMAN RIGHTS!

This is a great place to add a tagline.

For LGBTQ survivors of sexual assault, their identities – and the discrimination they face surrounding those identities – often make them hesitant to seek help from police, hospitals, shelters or rape crisis centers, the very resources that are supposed to help them.

The National Coalition of Anti-Violence Projects (NCAVP) estimates that nearly one in ten LGBTQ survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) has experienced sexual assault from those partners. Studies suggest that around half of transgender people and bisexual women will experience sexual violence at some point in their lifetimes.
